This page will direct
couples, priests, ministers, other officiants, or wedding
coordinators to the texts of multiple marriage ceremony prayers.
This topic is very abundant. It includes traditional prayerful
supplications offered to God or deities, in non monotheistic
religions, as well as personal and innovative wedding prayers
composed by brides and grooms, officiants or, at times, families.
Some of the texts are formal and directly connected with the
marriage liturgy, wedding Mass, or other official solemnization of
marriage in a religious setting. Other prayers are
personal written to be pronounced by the spouses or the parents.
Typically if you are a bride or a groom you will not be concerned
with formal nuptial prayers. Perhaps, the exception would be
to print this prayer in a wedding program. Formal marriage prayers
will be said by the priest, minister or other person presiding over
the ceremony. Instead, personal marriage prayers might be of major
interest to you if you are about to have your wedding ceremony soon.
You may find an appropriate text in the existing personal prayers
composed by others. But, you might be considering also the
texts of the formal prayers and modify them to form your own
version. |
